Russell began his racing career at the young age of seven. A career that started with go-Kart soon moved to dirt cars at the age of 14. Years of racing on dirt at Athens Speedway and Winder Barrow Speedway soon gave way to the asphalt tracks in 1998. Russell has defined Pro Late Model racing during the recent decade. In 2007 and 2008, he was the Georgia Asphalt Series champion. In 2008, he won the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park. In 2010, winning continues as Russell was recently crowned the 2010 Super Six Pro Late Model Champion.
